Onsite Installation
You won't need to stress about removing fences or having trucks drive across your lawn. We transport all shed materials and tools by hand through your gate.
2x4 Wall Construction 16"oc
All of our walls and roofs are now framed at 16" on center. I do not know of another shed builder in the area that frames this way. They all frame it 24 inches on center. This means we have an extra stud and roof truss for every four foot of your wall and roof which makes a stiffer and more secure wall and a stronger roof. All of our walls are also framed with California corners. This adds to the stability and enables wall sheathing to be added at a later time if the owner chooses.
We now use TuffBlocks instead of concrete blocks! TuffBlock is an award winning deck block and a signature product of BuildTuff. It is 100% recycled and designed to replace traditional concrete deck footings.
Double Top Plates, Hurricane Ties and Collar Ties
Along with our rafters being 16" on center, we use double top plates. This is an extra 2x4 placed on top of the sidewall that gives greater stability to the walls and roof. Hurricane ties are metal plates that are used to secure the rafters to the tops of the walls. Collar ties are 2x4s nailed to both sides of the rafters. They provide a greater stabilty and strength to the roof. These are typically only found in areas where the snow load is great.
2x6 or 2x8 Floor Joists 16"oc and 3/4 Plywood Floor Sheathing
We use 2x6 Pressure Treated floor joist in all our sheds. And 2x8 Pressure Treated joist in larger sheds. Many shed companies use only 2x4's. Our floor is super strong and will stand the test of time
Gable and Ridge Vents
We include gable air vents on all our sheds. We also install ridge vents on our roofs. This will provide great ventilation and increase the life of your shed. Some companies charge an additional upgrade price for these.
Life Time Architectural Shingles
All of our roofs have an underlayment moisture barrier, and we use GAF shingles which carry a lifetime warranty. We offer 5 different shingle color options. We can also build your shed with a metal roof if you choose.
Locking Door Tee Handle
Our doors have a locking tee handle with keys.
We use LP Smartside for our shed walls. It is an exterior grade panel pre primed a natural tan color. It is treated to both resist insects and rot.
2x4 Roof Overhangs with Aluminum Drip Edge
Our sheds have a 2x4 overhang around the roofline which is also covered by aluminum drip edge to help keep the shed dry in bad weather.
White No Maintenance PVC Trim
If you look at old sheds you quickly realize that the first thing to deteriorate is the trim boards used. We eliminate that from happening on our sheds by only using PVC trim boards. They never need paint and they will never rot.
